The Hurst Explosion Aftermath

Eva awakens alone and begins freaking out when she realizes what has happened. She is in such a state that her overwhelming desire to get away activates her powers, and she finds herself rushing through the shadows of the rubble in an effort to escape. Before she knows what has happened, she finds herself in downtown Newstone, exhausted and scared on a rooftop. And above all, all alone. Until a man in a battered hat climbs up and talks her out of her fear, and they agree to find out what has happened.

Hernan's grief is so intense at the loss of his wife and son, that his powers activate and burn out of control, turning the nearby flames into a pillar of fire that recedes as he slowly comes to grips with whats happened. His grief turns to rage when a guard pulls a gun on him, mistaking Hernan's connection with fire to have something to do with the explosion. Hernan's powers cause the nearby flames to attack the guard which is witnessed by several first responders which causes the situation to deteriorate, forcing Hernan to fight his way out of the ruins and eventually escape west, into one of the cities boroughs.

Bud is in shock at feeling himself in an alien form. His confusion and fear leads him to appear like a monster, an effect magnified by his inability to speak. This unfortunate misunderstanding causes police to attack him, causing him to injure several officers and damage cars as he makes his way south into the forest to lose his pursuers and collect his wits.

Roger slips out of the building nearly unseen, as his training kicks in. The only one who sees him is the civilian he saved when the blast hit. At a safe house, he would see on TV, that the individual had seen him, and told the media about the man who had saved his life and what he looked like. In essence, ending Roger's anonymity. Still Roger realizes something was odd about how easy he slipped away and after doing a tests, realizes he can manipulate time around him.

Cyreen is initially taken aback by the outward change in her body, but as logic would dictate, turns her attention to the task of escaping the crumbling lab she is in. Quickly she realizes the extent of her strength and busts her way past the steel walls and exits the building on the alley side, much to the shock of several onlookers. She quickly makes her way, as inconspicuously and quickly as possible, back to her apartment to run tests and figure out what happened to her.

The first thing Randel does when he comes to, is to stabilize his brother, who insists he'll be fine and that Randel should go search for more survivors, as there is no apparent danger at the moment and the EMTs are on their way. Randel helps a few people as best he can, before hearing a scream and seeing shadowy "something" dart by, which leads him to try an chase after it. This intent to chase causes his powers to kick in, and before he knows it, finds himself frost dashing after the figure. taken aback by this sudden speed, he falters behind after a momentary halt, until finally reaching a rooftop, where he finds young girl wreathed in shadows. She is scared out of her wits, but the two of them talk and decide to stick together for now until they figure out what has happened.
